Historical Tours

Today, the Gallipoli (Gelibolu) Peninsula battlefields are protected landscapes covered in pine forests and fringed by idyllic beaches and coves. However, the bloody battles fought here in 1915 are still alive in Turkish and foreign memories and hold important places in the Turkish, Australian and New Zealand national narratives. Australians and New Zealanders view the peninsula, now protected as the Gallipoli Campaign Historic Site, as a place of pilgrimage, and visit in their tens of thousands each year; they are outnumbered by Turks who, drawn by the legend of the courageous 57th regiment and its commander, Mustafa Kemal (the future Atatürk), also travel here in ever-increasing numbers to pay their respects.

Located in the Gallipoli district of Çanakkale, Gallipoli Lodge of Mevlevi Dervishes is known as the biggest lodge of mevlevi dervishes in the world. Having a historical background, the lodge is one of the most important ones.

During the Dardanelles Battle, when the enemy occupied Gallipoli, this lodge of dervishes were used as armory. It was in military zone for a long time after the Republic of Turkey was founded and in 1994, it was bought by General Directorate of Foundations and renovated. On 17th of September 2005, the facility has been opened to visit again. Currently it is administrated by the District Governorship of Gallipoli and some ceremonies are arranged every year by the Governorship of Çanakkale.

The trips will be carried out by the professional company and in the presence of professional guides.
